Established in 1907, the one-family-owned Batcher Block Opera House was sold to “The Frost Twins”, Chris and Colleen, and Chris’s wife, Tracy. It was 2003.
The NEW YORK ROOM came to life after the Frosts uncovered the History of what happened in their extreme home. Colleen returned from a trip to New York, and the new owners decided to bring a little NEW YORK and a little NEW YORK MILLS into the town of Staples to remind the Traveler of what happened here over 100 years ago. Staples History is a magical story. One that starts with the Train and continues with the Batcher Block Opera House New York Room.
Be a part of the journey to Celebrate History & Create More in the Batcher Block Opera House’s New York Room. Colleen as the owner of IAMRAREpresents, LLC, is opening for you. Spirits & Food await your arrival.

Dress Code
The appropriate attire for your visit with us is business casual.
OUR SPECIAL EVENTS ARE HELD ONE WEEK A MONTH
We cannot accommodate gentlemen in open-toe shoes, tank tops, non-tailored shorts, and both ladies and gentlemen in baseball hats and athletic attire for our once-a-month special event shows.
We have complimentary coat checks for your backpacks and coats. Please use it as we think you and the guests around you will be more comfortable.
We Love Having You Join Us
If you arrive and we are at capacity, please understand we are not trying to be exclusive. We love our guests. So much so that we are willing to turn some away so the ones inside can best enjoy their experience comfortably and without being overcrowded.
We want our guests to experience the BBOH “New York Room” in the way it was meant to be enjoyed – where there is a seat available for every person, where you are not standing shoulder to shoulder with a stranger (that’s what friends are for). Where you can hear the person you are sitting with, and you can get the proper attention and service you deserve.

It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
