My Tree

Willow Bookstore. Perham, MN

Wednesday August 11th, 2021

Hi.  It’s me, Colleen.

I did something fun!  I went to give two tours at our Historic Opera House,  in Staples, MN!  On the way back to Perham I was able to go to “our tree” at our local Willow Bookstore.

Wednesdays are for “What’s Happening”.  Today I am seeking balance!  Living Life on Purpose with the practice of the 7Days of balance is my goal.   There are so many days that life will try to knock you off your feet.  It is harder to fall when you have a rhyme to your days.  These last two months have been like riding a bongo board while juggling oranges and trying to eat a full course meal at the same time.  Thankfully I have my my 7Days to keep me in step.

When I got the call to give these tours on this day I decided to dress up and put a whistle in my step and trust God that Dad will be ok.  He was.  I am so lucky to have the family I have to help.  My main helper Terry, she knows just what I need for Dad.  I am so fussy, no, I am filled with worry, on purpose!

If I am good at any one thing, I would have to say it is how to worry.  I love to worry about the little things.  How Dad likes this or that.  I left knowing that I covered all his bases and I was able to give the tour of tours.

On the way home all I could think about was “our Tree”.  Mother and me.  By the Willow Tree.  Back when I was three.  That is when she gave me my first crown.  I gave Adam his first crown by “our Tree” when he was three.  Three.  Mother told me I AM RARE under that tree, our Willow Tree.

When our local bookstore opened a few years back I’ll never forget it!  When they unveiled their window I ran home and told Mother, “It’s Called THE WILLOW and she has our TREE inside!”  I would drive Mother at night back and forth to see the lights in her window and we would talk and talk about our love of books all those days of worry we walked.  This tree, “our Tree” is very important to me.  I was able to record this day with a photo of me, by the tree to remind me of how lucky I am to be here, now.  In this moment with you.  Time?  It is everything.

Thank you for spending your time with me.  I am slowing coming back to “the public”. Do you have your “Tree”?  Today is Wednesday and “What’s Happening” here with me is knowing that we are in the huddle, Dad and Me.  We are finding our way to the rhythm of the 7DAYS.  Balance!

Today?  Do something fun!  Dress up!  Or Not.  But Dress up!

Remember Me.

Sincerely,

Colleen Liz Frost
