Adam and Mom, Birthday Dinner with Grandpa - “Home”

Dear Adam,

Home. Dinnertime. Soren Kierkegaard said, “Life is not a problem to be solved but to be experienced.”

Moving to Hennepin in Minneapolis to “do” school when my Mother was so sick helped me and helped you find you. You made it your “home”. You had Kristika, thank God. She, like you, loves the kitchen! She was your person to experience life and all the problems that surrounded these 2.5 years. You met at the dinner table with ideas and some solutions as you experienced your days and nights of pandemic lock-in.

She finished her 4 year and you transferred home to figure out next. Making this “life decision” to move back into your “home” will have all new problems. These new problems, like those you left, will not be always be able to be solved, but experienced. This time with Grandpa and me, five blocks away!

Dinnertime this past week with you and Kristika at the table has been the joy of my days. Bring your problems, bring your ideas for solutions and let’s have “Chicken, Ribs, Shrimp!” Engaging in life with family. Being home, at dinnertime.

Celebrating your Birthday this weekend with all your cousins, aunts, uncles and yes, Grandpa was our first in three years! Salad, Bake potato, corn on the cob, shrimp scampi with ice cream and cake.

Dinner time. No problems. Life. Sometimes it is just perfect!

I love you more,

Mom
