RISEUP
No time? No problem! Taco Pie! This is my GOTO when I am outta time. My son’s eyes light up when I say TACOPIE! Here is what you need…..
1 pound of Hamburger, 1 medium Onion, 1 container of Sour Cream, 1 Crescent Rolls Pillsbury, 1 Package Mexican Cheese fine, 1 bag of Fritos Chips, 1 can of sliced Black Olives, 2 Tomatoes diced, 1 Head of Lettuce chopped, 1 Taco Seasoning mix, Taco Sauce.
Brown Hamburger and Onion then drain. Place back on stove add 3/4 cup of water mix Taco Seasoning into Hamburger. Set aside.
In deep pie dish roll out Crescent Rolls to fill bottom up to the edge like a pie dough covering completely.
In plastic bag crush most of the bag of chips with a rolling pin. Put a little over half on the bottom of the pie pan on top of the rolled out bottom.
Place Hamburger on top of the Chips.
With spoon and knife, glaze over the top a good layer of Sour Cream.
Sprinkle the Mexican fine Cheese over the Sour Cream.
Pat lightly the remaining Chips over the whole pie.
Place in the oven for about 30-40 Minutes.
WALA! TACOPIE!!!
To serve, cut like a pie and place your toppings of your choice. I use Lettuce, Black Olives, Tomatoes, Taco Sauce.
The kids love everything about the Taco Pie. The adults love it because it is not messy to eat like a taco……
I want to add that this is a recipe from my Sister’s dear friend, Karen Rise. There are some people who have friends that last a lifetime, she is one of ours……Treasure those who share recipes. They are friends who our family talks about in the dearest of ways……over those cold summer nights when you tell your family, tonight it’s TACOPIE!
Our Dear Friend, Karen Rise
Thank you Karen for bringing years of joy to our family! You will always be a part of our history and we look forward to celebrating more with you in our kitchen!
Sincerely,
Colleen Liz Frost
