Old Spaces, places of Historic Significance, like your National Historic Theater building, the Batcher Block, and its Opera House, are essential to our future well-being, both psychologically and emotionally.
This building is like music, paintings, plays, and movies; here lies a record of a period of time that connects us to our place of being and helps us see possibilities. This Architecture is here to inspire. To reflect on where we have been and stand as a beacon to longevity and sustainability through the ages.
It grounds us. Gives us a sense of community pride. We are excited about what happened here. This is a place where big things happened for this community, this region. It has stood the test of time. This milestone for this old building gives us a sense of preservation passion that will unite us towards a future we can all be proud of.
Together, building a sense of urgency to foster genuine external passion for preserving these walls of time can bring our community together in a way that very few communities can. We have only a dozen National Historic Treasures in our region, and very few are even open to the public.
That time is now. Soon, you will see some of the grand work being done behind the scenes. Soon, these walls will showcase the art of time as we move this beacon into the future. Bringing the past to a new life.
